Amit Shah holds meet over Assam- Arunachal boundary row

New Delhi, (BIJ News) Union Home Minister Amit Shah..


Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Arunachal Pradesh counterpart Pema Khandu over the inter-state boundary dispute between both the neighbouring states.


"Today, me and my Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma attended a review meeting held by Union Home Minister Amit Shah ji," Khandu told reporters here while referring to the meeting over Assam -Arunachal Pradesh boundary issue.


He further said, "Assam, Arunachal Pradesh boundary issue has been a vexed issue. But, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and Amit Shah we are committed to resolve it."


Earlier at the Assam House here where he met Sarma, the Arunachal Pradesh CM said, "The process to resolve the vexed Assam-Arunachal border issue has already started few months back by signing the ‘Namsai Declaration’ at Namsai in Arunachal."


Khandu also expressed hope that the long standing border issue will be resolved in next two-three months.


Echoing a similar sentiment, the Assam CM said, "Both the state governments have been putting in efforts to solve inter-state border dispute. We have resolved border issues pertaining to 37 villages and disputes with regard to 66 other villages will be resolved soon."


"We are committed to amicably resolve all the long-standing issues once and for all,' Sarma tweeted earlier after his meeting with Khandu.
