Hyderabad, (BIJ News) Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hoist National Flag at parade..


Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hoist National Flag at parade Grounds, Secunderabad here on September 17 on occasion of Telangana Liberation day.


In this connection, a preparatory meeting will be held sikh village here on Saturday.


State BJP President and MP, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Tourism Minister G.Kishan Reddy, BJP National General Secretary Sunil Bansal, OBC Morcha National President and MP, D K.laxman and BJP Madhya Pradesh state incharge P.Muralidhar Rao will participate in the meeting.


Chief Ministers of Maharashtra and Karnataka may also participate in the liberation day celebration.


Part of Maharashtra and Karnataka were part of erstwhile Hyderabad state.


However, Telangana Government earlier had decided to observe September 17, when erstwhile Hyderabad State was annexed to the Indian Union in 1948, as ‘National Integration Day’.


The government also decided to organise year-long celebrations to coincide with the commencement of the diamond jubilee year of the occasion.


The launch programme under the name “Telangana National Integration Diamond Jubilee” celebrations will be held across the State on September 16, 17 and 18, and conclude on the same dates next year.


Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao will hoist the national flag on September 17 and give his address. Ministers will hoist flags in districts and officials in municipalities, gram panchayats and government offices.


While Communist Party of India (CPI) decided to celebrate ‘ Telangana armed struggle “ week-long from September 11 to 17, highlighting the role of the party which had spearheaded the fight against the autocratic Nizam’s rule and ultimately resulting in the merge of Hyderabad state into the Indian Union.


CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy said that the BJP and RSS, which were not even born during the Telangana armed struggle, were trying to derive political mileage by celebrating September 17 as Telangana Liberation day.


Telangana Congress decided to celebrate September 17, the day Hyderabad State was merged into the Indian Union and celebrated as the liberation day, yearlong marking its 75th anniversary.
